Bringing History to Life: The Official Trailer for Tryal of Witches
I had the privilege of producing and filming the official trailer for Tryal of Witches, Theatre Royal’s gripping new production. Set in 1645, this powerful play delves into the paranoia, fear, and injustice that led to one of the most shocking witch trials in British history—right here in Bury St Edmunds.
With an atmospheric blend of light and shadow, movement and stillness, the trailer captures the tension and unease that runs through the heart of Tryal of Witches. Every frame was carefully crafted to reflect the play’s haunting themes: the weight of accusation, the hysteria of a community in crisis, and the devastating consequences for those caught in the storm.
Working closely with the creative team at Theatre Royal, I sought to visually immerse audiences in the world of the play. The film is driven by evocative cinematography and dynamic editing, layered with the haunting original music composed by TRILLS. The result is a piece that doesn’t just promote the production—it pulls viewers into the intensity of the story before they even step into the theatre.
I’m incredibly proud to have contributed to this project, helping to bring such an important and chilling moment in history back to life.
